MEET MELISSA

Hi, I’m Melissa the owner and artist behind Find Your Niche, mobile art studio. Creativity has always been a constant in my life whether it was baking and sewing with my dear grandmother or crafting at home with my mom. I grew up surrounded by creativity and I am excited to share my creativity with you. I offer children’s art classes, birthday parties and adult workshops.

As a certified art teacher, I spent 13 years teaching in schools across Chicagoland, and studied the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood learning through the lens of an Atelierista in Italy. These experiences shaped my love for exploratory art and led me to found my mobile art studio to share the magic of art with you. 

Far too often, there seems to be a “right” answer, but in art I love how everyone can create their own rules. I often tell my students “you’re the artist and you can choose.” That’s why I love to create open-ended art opportunities where artists of all ages can enjoy the process of creating rather than focusing on the final product.

I love teaching young artists (and those young at heart) because I truly believe that everyone is an artist. As a mom of two young daughters, I believe that art has the power to help children (and adults) explore, recharge and connect with others and themselves. I would be honored to share all that art has to offer with you.
